Before that: Esmeralda Santiago: The Turkish Lover, part 3 of her memoir.
- Part 1: When I was Puerto Rican.
- Part 2: Almost a Woman.
All three books are highly recommendable and one should read them in sequence, starting with the first book. English is the original language and it is recommendable to read them in English (instead of the Spanish or German translation) because only the original English version can truly "picture" the language (English/Spanish) and cultural divide (Perto Rican/Hispanic vs. Anglo American).
